Windows 11 taskbar now lets you deal with overflowing apps like a PRO!

July 21, 2022 By Fresh News Hub Leave a Comment

Windows 11 in its latest version allows you to have your overflowing apps on the taskbar stacked neatly in one space. Here are all the details.

Windows 11 is kind of a work-in-progress platform for PC users! With the new policy of updates, Windows 11 will now frequently keep adding experimental features to the OS rather than wait for a big upgrade in the year. As part of many such new additions, Microsoft has just released a feature that could help power users multitask like a PRO! Yeah, no kidding, the latest version of Windows 11 redesigns the taskbar to allow for overflowing apps.

So far, if you were dealing with enough apps at once that your Windows 11 taskbar couldn’t handle, it created an issue – you could only see the recently used ones in the overflowing section rather than see all of them. Now, Windows 11 has redesigned that section so that you can access all your apps easily. The overflow section is better suited to the Windows 11 elements and you can all your apps hosted there.

Windows 11 redesigns Taskbar for multitaskers

“We’re reintroducing taskbar overflow with a newly designed experience for Windows 11. This taskbar experience has been thoughtfully crafted to offer you a more productive switching and launching experience when space is constrained. Your taskbar will automatically transition into this new overflow state when it has hit its maximum capacity. In this state, taskbar will offer an entry point to an overflow menu that allows you to view all your overflowed apps in one space,” says Microsoft in its official blog.

“The overflow menu will contain many of the current taskbar behaviors users are familiar with, such as supporting pinned apps, jump list, and extended UI. After invoking overflow, the menu will quietly dismiss once you click outside of it or navigate to an application,” it adds.

Windows 11 is letting users try this only in the Developer beta versions and those interested can sign up for the Windows Insider Program and opt for the Dev channel updates.

That’s not all though. Microsoft has also improved the Nearby Share feature that now allows you to find more devices, including desktop PCs. Windows 11 will now use UDP along with Bluetooth to find these nearby devices. Additionally, users will be able to share from local storage to OneDrive cloud storage.
