WhatsApp users will now be able to discover past group members. The app is rolling out this feature in iOS beta format for now. Here is all you need to know.
Recently, we had revealed that WhatsApp is working on a feature that will let its users view a list of past participants in WhatsApp groups in order to get a better idea of what may have been happening earlier. And now the app is finally rolling out the feature for the iOS beta. Using this feature WhatsApp iOS beta users will be able to discover people who left or were removed from the group in the last 60 days. Informing about the same, WABetaInfo tweeted, “WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to view past group participants on iOS beta! Discover people who left or were removed in the last 60 days thanks to a new section within group info!”
It can be known that WhatsApp users can create a group and add up to 512 people to it. Similarly, the admin of the group also has an option to remove participants from the group. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the information about the ability to view past participants within the group can be seen within group info. “We posted some information about the ability to view past participants within our groups thanks to a new option visible within group info. WhatsApp is exactly releasing this feature to some beta testers that install the latest beta version of WhatsApp from TestFlight!,” the report said.
Sharing a screenshot, WABetaInfo informed that a new option is available at the end of the list of group participants that lets users discover people who left or were removed in the last 60 days. “This section is visible to all participants that have the feature enabled for their accounts: it means that this is not limited to group admins but everyone can open the past participants section,” the report informed. It further said that people who left or were removed from the group are listed in this section, but this event is no longer visible within the chat except for group admins.

Meanwhile if you are a WhatsApp group admin and want to add or remove participants, here is how you can do it.
WhatsApp group: How to add participants
1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject. Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options > Group info.
2. Click on Add participants and search for or select contacts to add to the group.
3. You will have to click the green check mark when you are finished.
WhatsApp Group: How to remove participants
Step 1:
Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject. Alternatively, click and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options > Group info.
Step 2:
Click the participant you want to remove and then tap Remove {participant} > OK.
