WhatsApp Group admins can approve new participants! Know what it is and how it works

Informing about the same, WABetaInfo tweeted, “WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.18.9: what’s new? WhatsApp is working on a group setting to approve new participants, for a future update of the app!” What needs to be noted is that the feature that gives the ability to manage who can join groups by using a group approval membership system is still under development.

“WhatsApp plans to introduce a new group setting called “Approve new participants”: thanks to this new setting, group admins can decide who can join the group. There will probably be a new section that lists all current requests of users that want to join the group: in this section, group admins can accept or decline incoming requests,” WABetaInfo said in a report. How to create a group:

1. Open WhatsApp then tap More options and click on New group.

2. Alternatively, tap New chat > New group.

3. Search for or select contacts to add to the group. Then, tap the green arrow icon.

4. Enter a group subject. This will be the name of the group that all participants will see. It can be noted that the subject limit is 25 characters.

5. You can tap Emoji to add emoji to your subject.

6. You can add a group icon by tapping the Camera icon. You can choose to use your Camera, Gallery, or Search Web to add an image. Once set, the icon will appear next to the group in the CHATS tab.

7. Tap the green check mark icon when you are finished.

How to invite into groups via links

Step 1:

According to the information provided by WhatsApp, if you are a group admin, you can invite people to join a group by sharing a link with them. The admin can Reset link at any time to make the previous invite link invalid and create a new link.

Step 2:

Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.

Step 3:

Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab. Then, tap More options > Group info.

Step 4:

Tap Invite via link.

Step 5:

Choose to send link via WhatsApp, Copy link, Share link through another app, or QR code.

Step 6:

If sending through WhatsApp, search for or select contacts, then tap Send.

Step 7:

To reset the link, tap Reset link > RESET LINK.
