Tablets are simply awesome! It offers a big screen that best suits all your binge-watching, reading sessions, doubling the experience. And especially when you can attach a pencil and a keyboard with it, the tablet can even act as your compact compatible regular laptop. Considering all these aspects, Realme has come up with a mid-range tablet called Realme Pad X, promising a great user experience with a good display, decent battery life, and other features. The company has also introduced accessories like a stylus and a keyboard case (sold separately). I have been using all three for a couple of weeks now and here is how these gadgets have impressed me! Read the full review below.
Realme Pad X: Design and Display
A tablet needs to be slim and lightweight, and should also have a sturdy build quality. The Realme Pad X, weighing 499 grams along with a slim body (7.1 mm) perfectly fits the bill here. The tablet gets a beautiful shimmery design with matte finish. Though the rear is made up of plastic, it feels nice to hold, especially considering its price (starting price is Rs. 19,999).
The Realme Pad X gets a 10.95-inch WUXGA+ Full View Display along with TUV Rheinland low blue light certification. With 450 nits of peak brightness, you can easily use the tablet under the Sun and of course indoors! The colour reproduction and sharpness also seems decent. The display also supports stylus input via Realme Pencil offering 4096 level pressure sensitivity and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
Realme Pad X: Performance
Powered by the Snapdragon 695 and running on Android 12 based Realme UI 3.0, the Realme Pad X offers great performance potential. Coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, daily casual stuff including binge watching, attending video calls, using social media applications (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), and playing games (Temple Run, Subway Surfer), among others, were managed with ease. Even multitasking was easy to handle in the splitscreen mode. During my time with the Pad X tablet, I did not notice any lag or similar issue.
Coming to the accessories, using the Realme Pencil was fun. The response time was quick although not as accurate as an Apple Pencil. The tablet also supports the Realme Smart Keyboard, which is easy and comfortable to use. The keys were easy to locate and the traveling time while typing was also decent. Note that both of these accessories need to be purchased separately.
Equipped with Dolby Atmos quad-speaker setup, the Pad X offers clear and loud audio. However, the tablet does not have a 3.5mm port, hence if you are a wired earphone user, you may have to switch to a Bluetooth earphone.
Coming to the camera performance, the tablet sports a 13MP rear camera and a 105 degree 8MP wide-angle front camera. The tablet manages to click decent pictures in a well-lit surrounding. However, in low light, the pictures were noisy. The colour accuracy and detailings were decent considering the price at which the tablet is being offered.
Realme Pad X: Battery
The battery life offered by Realme Pad X is praise worthy. Equipped with an 8340mAh battery, the tablet easily lasts for 3-4 days with almost 3 hours of daily usage. However, the battery life may vary based on your usage timing and the purpose for which you are using the tablet. It also comes with a 33W charger, which can juice up the battery from 10 percent to full in around 3 hours. The tablet also supports reverse charging.
Realme Pad X: Verdict
Considering the price range, Realme Pad X impresses with its ability to handle the basic stuff that one expects from a tablet. You will love watching movies, web series, reading, and even gaming to an extent on this tablet. The big screen along with good speakers makes it enjoyable. It also comes with great battery life, which makes it ideal for the movie sessions on the weekends, or while travelling. Though charging is a bit slow, considering the size of the battery, the longer stamina makes up for it. If you go for Realme Pencil and Keyboard, they only further your user experience.
However, Realme could have improved the camera performance and could also have provided a headphone jack for the users who love using wired earphones. Overall, Realme Pad X can be seen as a great deal for the money you will be paying. Still, if you are looking for some other considerable options, you can check Oppo Pad Air, Xiaomi Pad 5, among others.
