iPhone 14 to break record! To be Made in India too alongside China this time

August 7, 2022 By Fresh News Hub Leave a Comment

iPhone 14 is now rumoured to be manufactured in India and China this year by Foxconn. Here is all you need to know.

iPhone 14 is going to be a big deal for iPhone fans despite not bringing major upgrades over the current generation iPhone 13 series. A mildly updated A15 chip, new colours, new cameras sensors, and a bunch of other new stuff will grace the iPhone 14. Apple is expecting to move massive units of the iPhone 14 this year and to ensure that happens effortlessly, Apple could be making the iPhone 14 in both China and India this year, suggest some latest reports.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the popular Apple analyst, the iPhone 14 will be manufactured in India alongside the China manufacturing. Supplier Foxconn is said to ship the iPhone 14 from India almost simultaneously with the China plant. This is the first time Apple will manufacture the iPhone 14 on par with its Chinese manufacturing units. Usually India gets to manufacture the latest iPhone models with a delay of almost an entire quarter. Kuo goes on to say that there is still a commendable gap in India’s capacities and shipments when compared to China.

iPhone 14 to be made in India too

“It implies that Apple is trying to reduce the geopolitical impacts on supply and sees the Indian market as the next key growth driver,” Kuo said in a tweet.

However, the Indian unit is expected to focus only on the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and Kuo says nothing about the iPhone 14 Max, which is expected to have the 6.7-inch display. Apple has never manufactured the Pro models of the iPhone in India and we have little reasons to believe that will change this year. The 6.1-inch vanilla iPhone 13 is usually the most widely sold iPhone 13 model in India and even the world.

Manufacturing the latest iPhone in India will also help Apple bypass the frequent production delays that it encounters in China. The Chinese plants often go under frequent lockdowns due to the COVID-19 outbreaks happening in the country. Indian manufacturing units do not face such issues and Apple could ensure a steady supply of the iPhone 14 in the initial few months.

The iPhone 14 series is expected to have four models this year, consisting of the vanilla iPhone 14, a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, the actually upgraded iPhone 14 Pro, and its bigger sibling, the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are expected to ditch the iconic notch for the first time and replace it with a punch-hole cutout. These models will also get a new higher resolution 48MP main camera, and possibly a bigger battery with faster 30W charging.
