August 8, 2022 By Fresh News Hub Leave a Comment

iPhone users can edit and unsend the delivered message with iOS 16. Know how to do it on iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and other supported iPhones.

With users exchanging hundreds of messages in a day, it is possible to make some minor mistakes. Whether it is about grammatical errors or even sending a message on the wrong window, this can leave you embarrassed or even sometimes in trouble! Thanks to the new iOS 16 update which delivered the new feature to edit the sent message like magic. Not just that, in case you consider that you shouldn’t send this message then you can simply unsend it too!

However, every new feature comes with some limitations too! The latest feature to unsend or edit delivered text will let you make the changes for a limited time only. Moreover, the receiver of the text will be aware that you have altered the already sent message via the “Edited” tag on the message. Only iMessage users will be able to make use of this interesting feature. And yes, the most important of all, your iPhone should have the iOS 16 version! It is currently in the public beta version, which means all the users of iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone SE and other iPhones supporting iOS 16 can try this feature now. Else, you’ll have to wait for the global rollout of the iOS 16, expected alongside the launch of iPhone 14.

Here’s a quick guide for you to edit or unsend messages on your iPhone.

How to edit sent messages on iPhone

Step 1:

To unsend a text message on your iPhone, you will need to open your iMessage app.

Step 2:

Then press and down on the message of yours that you want to unsend.

Step 3:

This will pop up an option of Undo Send. Simply tap on it and it’s done! The message will disappear from your as well as the recipient’s end.

Step 4:

However, you should note that if another person is still using an older version of iOS 15, then the message will not disappear from their end.

Step 5:

Similarly, to edit a text on iMessage, tap and hold on a message and click on the edit button.

Step 6:

You will be able to make the changes according to your need and then press the blue checkmark to resend it.
