Infinix InBook X1 Neo Laptop Review: Budget laptops are getting great!

July 30, 2022 By Fresh News Hub Leave a Comment

The Infinix INBook X1 Neo offering decent overall performance is a considerable option under Rs. 25000. Check the full review here to know more.

When it comes to buying a laptop with decent performance, a budget of Rs. 25,000 seems inadequate. Infinix, however, is providing a considerable option with the recently launched InBook X1 Neo laptop worth Rs. 24,990. Powered by the Intel Celeron Quad Core N5100 processor, the InBook X1 Neo not only promises to offer a decent performance but also gets a stylish look and two colour options to choose from. Want to know how much you can rely on the Infinix InBook X1 Neo laptop for your daily workload? Figure it out in our review here.

Infinix InBook X1 Neo: Design

Is it a head turner? Laptops, especially those below Rs. 25000 price range do not have much to offer in their looks and design. But, the InBook X1 Neo will grab your eyeballs with its stylish looks in Cosmic Blue colour (the one I have been using for a while now!). The laptop is also very comfortable to hold, carry and use as it is lightweight (1.24KG) and sleek (14.8mm thickness). Made up of aluminium alloy based metal body, the build quality of the laptop is commendable, especially for what it costs. The laptop also gets a subtle combination of matte and metallic brush finish, which I think looks great. You also get all the required I/O ports such as a USB Type-C port, Type-A port, a microSD card reader, among others.

Infinix InBook X1 Neo: Display and Keyboard

To enhance your viewing experience, the Infinix InBook X1 Neo gets a 14-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with 300 Nits peak brightness, making it easier to use under the sunlight. Compared to other sub- ₹25,000 laptops, this is an incredible display, especially with regards to its colour reproduction. The bezels are thin, and a webcam is placed exactly at the top center along with two flashlights and dual mics. Not even the Chromebooks from HP and Asus have such nice displays at this price.

When it comes to the InBook X1 Neo keyboard, it is well spaced out but the key travel is not substantial. However, it makes up for its with a mono-tone backlight, which is commendable as at this price range backlit keyboard is not easy to find. I did not find issues related to ghosting although writers may want to invest in a separate keyboard. The trackpad is large and gives good touch response.

Infinix InBook X1 Neo: Performance

Made especially for the students, the Infinix InBook X1 Neo is one of the very few Windows 11 laptops under Rs. 25,000 — a segment that only sees Chromebooks. The InBook X1 Neo handles everyday tasks smoothly and with ease with the help of its Intel Celeron Quad Core N5100 processor. It is able to handle all of Windows 11 and its loads well, and thanks to the copious amounts of RAM — 8GB RAM is standard, it can multitask easily too. Running a few Chrome tabs and Word is no big deal. The 256GB storage may seem less but note that this is a PCIe SSD storage, which means boot times are incredibly fast for a budget laptop.

The Infinix InBook X1 Neo handled my daily official workload which included web browsing, using WhatsApp web and other social media handles, attending video calls and meetings, to around 10-12 tabs running simultaneously for around 9-10 hours without throwing any tantrums. However, the laptop did get a bit slower while using it on charge. Other than that, I did not notice any lag or issue during my usage.

The display size is decent and makes entertainment fun by letting you enjoy movies, web shows, and much more with great picture quality and colours. Though the speakers are placed at the bottom, the audio output was loud enough with decent clarity.

Infinix InBook X1 Neo: Battery

Infinix offers a decent battery life with the InBook X1 Neo. The laptop comes with a 50Wh battery along with a 45W charging adapter. The battery lasted for around 4-5 hours of continuous usage. However, the charging was slow. It took around 3 hours to completely charge the battery from 20 percent. It can be noted here that I was using the laptop while it was on charge, which may have slowed the charging process a bit.

Infinix InBook X1 Neo: Verdict

It is not everyday that you get to see a brand new Windows laptop selling for Rs. 25,000. Infinix has clearly done a great job here — at a time when other brands only focus on expensive models, a lot of attention is paid to the entry-level segment. The Infinix InBook X1 Neo offers a great user experience, which is rare for a laptop of this class. The design is eye-catching and the build quality is excellent. Though it is using an older processor, the performance is decent and its target customers, i.e., students, will be content with what’s on offer. We also like the display, which is crucial for these budget laptops. Battery life could have been better and so could the charging speeds, but we are then asking too much from Infinix.

On the whole, we cannot think of any other Windows laptop that offers such great value in this entry-level segment as the Infinix InBook X1 Neo. Of you want a basic laptop for online classes and educational purposes, look no further.
