How to edit sent messages on iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and more

August 4, 2022 By Fresh News Hub Leave a Comment

Apple rolled out the iOS 16 for public beta last month and fans have a reason to be super excited. The new software update comes with several exciting features and improvements. One such feature is to edit sent messages that users have been waiting for a long time. It applies to iOS 16 compatible handsets like iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and others. With this new feature, iOS 16 supported iPhone users will be allowed to edit sent messages up to 15 minutes after it is sent. Do note that the feature only works with iMessages, not SMS messages, so the sender as well as the receiver need to have an iPhone for it to work effectively. Also the participants must be using Apple’s latest iOS 16 version. The sent Messages will have a small “edited” note below it, so the person on the other end will know what the change was made if they tap on the “Edited” text.

If you have downloaded the new iOS 16 public beta on your device then you can access this new feature to edit sent messages on the iPhone this way.

Step 1:

Open the iMessage on  your Apple iPhone 12, 13 or other iOS compatible phones.

Step 2:

Now, open the user’s message box and select the message you want to edit by long pressing on it.

Step 3:

Now add your edit, and then press the blue checkmark to resend.

And it’s done.

Before you follow the above mentioned steps, do note that Apple has dropped the new software support from some of the older models. Only the iPhone 8 and above owners can access this feature as iPhone 7, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE don’t support the new iOS 16 update due their hardware restrictions.

Apart from this users can also access Photo editing tools, customizable lock screen, Apple Pay later and much more.
