Have you linked your Aadhaar card with PAN? If not, then you have to pay double penalty!

July 3, 2022 By Fresh News Hub Leave a Comment

PAN-Aadhaar linking last date was extended, but the bad news is that you have to pay a bigger penalty now! Know how to link your PAN-Aadhaar IDs and pay the late penalty online.

Have you linked your PAN card and Aadhaar card yet? If not, then know that the Aadhaar-PAN linking last date was June 30! Well, there is good and bad news for you. As per a circular issued by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the deadline for linking your PAN with Aadhaar has been extended, but there is an opportunity open for those who missed linking their IDs. CBDT has extended the deadline of Aadhaar-PAN linking till March 31, 2023. After that, those whose PAN is not linked with Aadhaar will become “inoperative”.

That means you still have some time till March 31 of the next year to do the PAN-Aadhaar linking, but there is something that you need to know- failing to link your Aadhaar card with a PAN card, will now cost you a penalty of up to Rs. 1,000 for late linking. This is double the amount that users had to pay before June 30, 2022. If you haven’t linked your Aadhaar with your PAN card, then know how you will need to pay the penalty for late linking.
